It is very rare that my expectations are super exceeded, it happened during my experience with the Aromatics Bliss Spa Therapy: Aromatics Spas' signature treatment.
The experience includes a Body Exfoliation, Body Wrap and Hot Stone Massage: total relaxation of body, mind, and spirit. The whole experience took me on a journey of 150 min of heavenly bliss, using Lavender and Geranium fragrances!!!
My journey began with a welcome herbal tea from my therapist for the day. In the changing area I dressed down for the first step of my treatment. My therapy room was more secluded and tranquil, with petal soft décor and soft music in the background. I lay on the massage bed, my entire body already responding to the calmness of my environment.
My therapist started off by 'hypnotizing' my senses with fragrances and tuning in to my energies. The chimes danced gently with the wind, the floor candles danced to the piped sounds of music, which seemed here, yet there. Did I tell you…..,indulgence is my middle name...?
The Body Scrub: Relaxing products of a mixed texture; smooth and creamy with rough grape seeds were used to massage, exfoliate and hydrate every nook and cranny of my body. The products smelt delicious. I could feel the old, dead skin wash away. Head to toe; my back, belly, arms, legs and feet, my skin was breathing. This treatment stimulates blood flow, relieves tress, insomnia and digestive disorders.
Body wrap: My skin was now ready to receive the wrap that feeds and nourishes the cells. My entire body was slathered with a cool body mask, a welcome relief after the scrub. I was wrapped, then covered with blankets, for 20 minutes to keep warm. It was so cozy, I dosed off. My therapist began to give me a head massage, I was out like a bulb!
I woke up with a gentle nudge and was escorted to the shower.
It is recommend that you wash off the wrap with only water, No soap. This is so that the products continue to penetrate the cells through the pores. My skin felt smooth and silky soft to the touch; I'm told it still does..:)
Next, The Steam Room: In the steam room, the Eucalyptus menthol cleared my airways. The heat cleansed, healed and rejuvenated me; inside out. I breathed easy. I chose to cool off in the wonderful Saline Pool or Hydro bath. The strong jets in the pool massage tired muscles, as well as detoxify the body.
The Hot Stone Massage. Little did I know, that the best was yet to come. The hot stone massage uses smooth, heated basalt stones with aromatherapy oils. In the hands of my legendary therapist, a ballet of traditional massage strokes and hot stone techniques was applied all over my body. The hot stones systematically melted away knots, tension and stress. I couldn't tell where/when my therapists' strokes were beginning or ending: this experience is transcendent!
I was left to relax (sleep) and return to my senses slowly. After the changing room, a warm cup of herbal tea and a plate of fresh fruit cuts were waiting for me. It's a way of making peace for having to end such a beautiful experience!
