We are ‘this close’ to ending Polio

“Our Rotary Day turned out to be mind boggling with close to two thousand people gathered at the University of Nairobi and making a procession through the Nairobi central business district.

President Elect Nana Wanjau with District Governor Bimal Kantaria
Having set the stage two weeks prior to the event was very thoughtful of our Rotaractors. Rotaract skaters went through all our major roads which culminated with flash mob in the center of Nairobi town attracting hundreds of pedestrians and motorists- literary closing down business for seven minutes left the city yearning for more!
What I call a sea of Red overwhelmed the busy town led by an army band. Other towns that held the Walk against polio include Kisumu city, Mombasa, Malindi, Meru& Naivasha.

Having received coverage in major print, audio and visual media was phenomenal! Our social media team did a splendid job too.
There is no better way to add our voice into the Rotary’s long term project than to let the world now that we have been at it for decades, we are still doing something about it and now we are “this close” to ending polio!!” DG magazine

Polio still cripples thousands of children around
the world. With your help, we can wipe this
disease off face of the earth forever.
